The non-athlete membership has a background check and can take a few days to clear before you get your AAU Membership confirmation. 2. Purchase Athlete Memberships. The cost of a membership is $14 per athlete, however, AAU do have an Extended Coverage Membership that can be used if you participate in non-AAU sanctioned events. Enter the club code you received in Step 1 when purchasing athlete memberships. The cost of the Extended Cover Membership is $16.
